Podcasts and YouTube shows

youtubepodcast I've covered YouTube shows on the Geek & Sundry channel elsewhere. Here I will discuss shows worth watching on other YouTube channels, and some Podcasts I find fun and interesting.

For Podcasts, it's hard to link to them here, but I get all of my Podcasts via the iTunes Store. They're super easy to find and subscribe to there.

  • The Alton Browncast (Alton Brown's podcast)
  • The Dead Authors Podcast (good information for aspiring writers everywhere)
  • Dead Robots' Society (another writing podcast)
  • The Instance (THE World of Warcraft podcast, for folks who are still into that sort of thing)
  • The Nerdist (fun chats with interesting people, hosted by the charming Chris Hardwick)
  • Nerdist Writers Panel (again, on the topic of writing)
  • StarTalk Radio Show by Neil deGrasse Tyson (science and stars and stuff with the awesome Dr. Tyson)
  • Sword & Laser (a sci-fi/fantasy book club hosted by Veronica Belmont and Tom Merritt)

For YouTube shows, again, it's hard to link to entire series here. But if you search for the name of the show, you'll find the episodes easily on YouTube. The name in parentheses is the name of the channel which hosts the show.

  • 4-Points with Alex Albrecht and Alison Haislip (The Nerdist, no longer in production) -- interesting multi-topic conversations featuring a variety of geek/nerd notable people
  • All-Star Celebrity Bowling (The Nerdist) -- Chris Hardwick bowls against teams of celebrities. Hilarity ensues.
  • Cocktails with Stan (World of Heroes) -- short interactions between Stan Lee and various celebrities, over drinks
  • DIY Geek (World of Heroes, no longer in production) -- geek based arts & crafts
  • Farscape Minisodes (The Nerdist, appears to have only made it through Season 1) -- plot specific summaries of Farscape
  • Harry Potter and the Ten Years Later (Furious Molecule) -- just what it says
  • Justin Willman's Magic Meltdown (The Nerdist, no longer in production) -- GREAT magic, misdirection and mischief
  • Save The Supers (MyDamnChannel, no longer in production) -- silly superheroes fighting silly villains
  • Shut Up and Sit Down (Penny Arcade TV) -- a great tabletop game review show
  • Speakeasy with Paul F. Tompkins (Mademandotcom) -- short celebrity interviews, with alcohol!
  • StarTalk (The Nerdist) - see podcasts above
  • The Alton Browncast (The Nerdist) - see podcasts above
  • The Brothers Rapture (The Brothers Rapture) -- not a show, but a Bioshock short film
  • Thug Notes (Thug Notes) -- think Cliffs Notes, but street

If you know of any podcasts or YouTube shows that you enjoy that I haven't mentioned, please suggest them here!
