Despicable Me 2

despicable2 If you liked the first Despicable Me film, you'll enjoy the sequel.

Steve Carrell as Gru continues to be endearing in his inept former Supervillain way. Kristin Wiig voices a similarly inept anti-villian super-spy, and Gru's love interest. The real show stealers are the Minions. They are present throughout the film, and I think they get more screen time than any other character in the movie. I love the fact that each minion has his own distinct name (Kevin, Bob, Stuart...).

The plot is pretty simple (supervillain trying to genetically engineer monsters, anti-villain group asks Gru to help, misdirection, plots are foiled, happy ending), so rather than discuss it here at length, enjoy these Minion related clips.

Couldn't you just watch the minions for hours? Well, good news everybody! I've seen reports around the interwebs indicating that a Minions movie is scheduled for release in 2014.
